What to expect from ScamPrep
Practice spotting scams and stay ahead of the latest ones
Scams reach everyone, and AI makes them more convincing than ever.
-
Confirm your enrollment
You'll receive an invitation from hello@getscamprep.com explaining the practice and asking for your consent. You decide whether to join and can turn email, text, or phone practice off at any time.
-
Receive a few practice messages each month
Simulations are designed to look like the scams going around in real time, like a package fee or a bank alert. Each arrives on no set schedule, and never more than one a day.
-
Celebrate those you catch, learn from those you don't
If you ignore a practice scam, it will appear as a win in your Resilience Report. If you click, reply, or answer a practice call, we'll tell you right away that it was practice and give you a quick tip.
-
Get short scam alerts
Between practice messages, you'll get short email alerts about the latest scams and what to do if they reach you.
-
Track your progress in the Resilience Report
Every three months, you'll get a summary of what you caught and what to watch for next. See yourself getting savvier with each report and choose if others get a copy.
What ScamPrep never does
- Ask for real money, passwords, or account details
- Use the name of a real bank, company, or government agency
- Fake a caller ID or pretend to be someone you know
- Test your memory or judge how you're doing
- Sell your information or share your results without your consent
There's nothing to install, no app, and no password to remember.
Pausing ScamPrep
Reply to any ScamPrep email or write to hello@getscamprep.com to pause or stop your enrollment. You can also turn texts or calls off and keep the rest.
The golden rule for all messages that look like scams
If you're ever unsure about a message, even if you think it's a simulation, don't respond or take the action it suggests. Check with someone you trust using a number you already know, like the one on the back of your card.
If you think you've run into a real scam, report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. To talk it through with someone, the AARP Fraud Watch Network Helpline is free at 877-908-3360, weekdays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern.
